What ever happened to the tv draws like lottario l strongly believe the lottries are fixed computer generated no less which makes it even harder to believe id be willing to bet if you asked the people of canda if they thought the lottery was fixed olg wouldnt like the results.You cant trust the government an to trust something at arms length of the government is a joke ,put the lotterys back on the tv maybe live on the community channels as it stands l wouldnt even rule out a government slush fund with the computor running the lottery how hard would it be

Other players have asked why we don’t show our draws live. The primary reason is our regional draws are done by Random Number Generator and therefore there is not much for the player to see. Secondly, it was difficult for television networks to insert a segment of the required length at a precise time every draw night as well as the unpredictability of the time slot. I want to assure you that our lottery draws are conducted with the highest standards to uphold the public&#;s trust.
Strict guidelines are followed and external auditors are present for the draw. All of our draws are taped and we are more than happy to share a specific draw if requested. The Lotto Max, Lotto draws are all performed with a ball machine at the ILC lottery head office in Ontario. Every draw is videotaped, and you can find them on our Youtube channel by searching for Atlantic Lottery on www.youtube.com.

The location where you buy your ticket does not affect your odds of winning a prize. Larger provinces and cities may have more winners than smaller locations however this is because there are more people buying tickets in heavily populated areas, and consequently, more people winning prizes. Atlantic Canadians are winning the lottery every day, whether it is a large prize or small.
It is never known where winning tickets will be sold, chance takes care of that and each player, regardless of where they live, has the same odds of winning. The odds of winning the top prize are mathematically determined; therefore, they do not change regardless of the jackpot amount, or where the tickets are purchased.

I have been observing that big jackpots are always goes to Quebec not only once but everytime a big jackpot is accumulated after two three draws without winners. Why are the draws not televised? Is it time to do an audit by an independent auditing company?

I for one don&#;t believe your expanations.
Ontario and Quebec end up with more than the lion share of winning tickets. I think maybe there should be another lottery for the rest of Western and Eastern Canadabecause if half the ticket sales are coming from the rest of Canadathey certainly aren&#;t even getting on the 25% side of winning anything. Every drawing is either Ontario or Quebec. The fastest way to change thisthe rest of Canada simply stop buying Lotto Max and 64/9.
We should only buy the lotteries that are in our respective Provinces. It can&#;t hurtwe aren&#;t getting close to a winning ticket or a portion there of living outside of Ontario or Quebec anyway. For me this was the last Lotto Max I contribute to a Quebec or Ontario winner.

I really do think lotto max and lotto are rigged. A live stream of the draw on a youtube channel will clear alot of doubts because the explanation about why Ontario and Quebec always win does not make sense because if every one across the nation had an equal chance of winning with the length of time these 2 lotteries have been in place, there wouldve been wins randomly across the nation and not just between 2 provinces.
I totally agree with Colleen above I am done contributing to the Quebec and Ontario winnings, if I ever have to play again I will stick to the western canada lotteries

The Lotto Max draws are done by random ball drop at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming headquarters in Toronto and are overseen by Interprovincial Lottery Corporation. There are independent auditors present at each draw and the balls are weighed and tested regularly. The Lotto Max draws aren&#;t televised live due to the constraints of timing the draw with television scheduling across the country.

There are five lottery jurisdictions in Canada. The Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) services the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador. We all know and understand quite well, where and when the lottery draws are performed.
However, its imperative to address the main question everyone has been asking and if you people don&#;t have an answer, tell us that you don&#;t have an answer. WHY are the draws not streamed live? After-all, we spend the money to purchase the tickets, and we are customers. You people make the big bucks, don&#;t we, at least, deserve transparency? We know about ILC, yet we want to know WHY there cannot be live draws.

There is a flaw with the random number generator system used by the ILC, and I am willing to provide accurate proof if required. I would like the admission of truth regarding the fact that there is NO such thing as a computerised system that can produce random sets of numbers.
This simply does not exist as it is virtually impossible for there to be an algorithm that can produce a set of truly randomised numbers. There will always be a trend or patters as a computer cannot be randomised. Therefore, your random number generators are a lie and a serious case of fraud and deception. Please share your thoughts. People need to know the truth.

This thread is called WHY DOES QUEBEC WIN ALL the BIG JACKPOTS. All I merely did was go to lottery results page and copy and paste the mind boggling evidence to support my claim. I wonder why all these facts were deleted from this post? This is a legitimate question that needs to be addressed.
All people from across Canada spend there hard earned money with dreams of one day striking it rich and making there lives easier. We would all hope that we have a legitimate chance of winning when we go to our local lotto retailer and purchase a ticket that we could wake up in morning a winner. It would appear that this isnt the case.
I think all reader on hear want to and deserve to know why, 80% of winnings go to a province that has only % of our population? I have no interest in a private phone Piggy pennies slot machine or email, I want as many people as possible to know the truth.

We all know Quebec wins the majority of the jackpots big or small.
I would understand if Ontario or West Canada won the jackpot more oftenthese are areas with higher populations than Atlantic Canada. With regards to Mike, I am in agreement with his person on the inability of a program to randomly generate numbers. My first day of programming we were told that programs are developed to follow a set of rules and therefore cannot be randomevery action or reaction is predetermined.
Even the ball dropping system is not completely random and that is why the U.K. lottery has 2 ball dropping machines and 10 sets of balls that are randomly selected at the time of the draw which is televised live to avoid questions of interference. Why can we not do that here in canada using television or streaming online?

Overseen by "Interprovincial Lottery Corporation", OK.and they just happen to be owned and run by the government, and of course we all know how honest the government is, don&#;t we? Second issue: "Independent auditors". Really? And are these auditors so independent that the governments does not pay them to do the audit?
They do it for free, just to make sure its all honest! If you want me to believe that consider the old saying "You don&#;t bite the hand that feeds you!" Funny I have been saying the same since Trudeau was voted in.
Thunder Bay rarely wins and never anything big ,makes me feel like he is making Quebec rich on the backs of the rest of Canada. Maybe we need the lottery corporations to be investigated as I do believe there is some fraud going on. The lotteries are always consistently going high and then being won in Quebec ? Or in trudeaus back yard as he does not live in Quebec.

Hi Geno, Lotto Quebec is the only jurisdiction who allows players to pick all three lines.
They originally launched it like the rest of the country, but, changed it later due to customer requests. AL has a small number of Lotto Max players who pick their own numbers approx. 3%, therefore the amount this change would cost, is not a cost effective solution for us. LQ may have been able to do this, as they have a much larger customer base which enables them to perhaps add extra features we are not able to.

In previous posts it’s been stated that random numbers do form patterns, so if Quebec gets to pick all three lines they can use the hot numbers and cold numbers and play the stats and probabilities better than anyone else in the country.
It’s like a light bulb just went off above my head. We only get to pick one line with two picked for us, they get to pick all three so each line gets tweaked with a better chance of playing the “random” numbers. That’s not fair! Forget population they have a greater chance of winning just by default of picking 3 lines. Maybe the lottery should ask the rest of Canada if they’d like to pick 3 lines again so it’s fair!

I thought our 58 million to upgrade our AL lottery system would allow ALC to add extra features with just the touch of a button. you know add new things to please the players like, be another province or provinces to have the balls to pick our 3 sets of lotto max numbers if we want like, some other province.

I haven&#;t played Pro-Line for a little while so I&#;m not sure when this started but I just noticed that there are some selections such as the Over/Under and Spread that now have an even number instead of the half. For example, on today&#;s Over/Under between the San Diego Padres vs Cincinnati Reds it is So, if the total just happens to be exactly 9 runs, neither the Over or the Under will win.
Is this correct or am I missing something? Or will a total of 9 runs win for both the Over AND Under. I would be surprised if that is the case. If I am correct on my first assumption, then why isn&#;t there an option to pick EXACTLY 9 runs (for this example) so that there will be a winning selection somewhere in the list? Again, if I am correct, it seems like a rather pitiful way for ALC to make a slight percentage more profit.
In that same example, the Over has a payout vs a for Under. Comparatively, Kansas City vs Minnesota has an Over/Under payout of and which is no different ( total each). So in the least, the total for the even-numbered Over/Under outcomes should have a bigger payout because of that chance that the exact number is hit.

So would there in the future be a possibility of having a form of "Totals" game where there would be odds set for certain sports where someone would guess the exact number of runs/goals/points of games?
This would be mostly applicable to the finals of the major sports (ie World Series, Superbowl, Stanley Cup)? I remember seeing something similar for hockey in last year&#;s playoffs where one could bet on the winning margin. Thanks!

For example, numbers cannot be chosen for Salsa Bingo, Poker Lotto, TAG, Bucko and Keno, they are always chosen at random by the system but again, any given number combination - whether chosen randomly or by the player - have the exact same odds of winning a prize.

I know everyone on here seems pretty upset the fact all big prizes are won in Ontario and Quebec.

Lottery draws within Atlantic Canada are not televised. The primary reason is our Regional draws are done by Random Number Generator and therefore there is not much for the player to see. I want to assure you that our lottery draws are conducted with the highest standards to uphold the public&#;s trust. Strict guidelines are followed and external auditors are present for the draw. All of our draws are taped and we are more than happy to share a specific draw if requested.
Also, players can make a formal request to come and watch a draw, provided we can fulfill all of the necessary security requirements. Our National draws, Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, are conducted using a ball machine. The balls used for the draws are measured and weighed every six weeks. If even one of the balls slightly varies in weight or diameter, the complete set is replaced. Between draws, the balls are locked away in a sealed container. Independent auditors attend each draw, and all draws are videotaped.
All these security features are aimed at ensuring that every player has an equal chance of winning. You do not sound like a complainer at all DJ. The way I see it, you are helping us all by making our Canada lottery system to be finally equal and fair. I myself is a victim of buying hundreds of dollars worth of lottery tickets and to wake up on a Saturday morning with only 2 free plays and 5 bucks.

Hi Geno, Lotto Quebec is the only jurisdiction who allows players to pick all three lines. They originally launched it like the rest of the country, but, changed it later due to customer requests. AL has a small number of Lotto Max players who pick their own numbers approx. 3%, therefore the amount this change would cost, is not a cost effective solution for us. LQ may have been able to do this, as they have a much larger customer base which enables them to perhaps add extra features we are not able to.

“Where does the remaining un-won maxmillions go?” I noticed everyweek that the maxmillions rises but the jackpot of $60, doesn’t get any higher. For example, last night we had 42 extra maxmillion draws - but only 17 of them was won, ‘where does the extra 25 million go?’ .

The RNG system was designed to be as unpredictable as a ball-drop draw. There are considerable safeguards as well as verification by external auditors occurs for ALL lottery draws regardless of how the results are generated. In terms of RNG, like the ball machine, the actual machines for RNG are kept in a safe in a controlled room at Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC) offices.
As well, there is an external audit of the draw itself. ALL lottery draws are audited internally and externally and there are a number of checks and balances that are the accountability of third party experts - from on-site auditors for draws to the verification of equipment by third party certification experts. The software itself is designed to signal any modification to any component of the system that has an influence on the outcome. As for why and when this was put into place, I will have to gather that information and will get back to you.

Good afternoon JC, thank you for your inquiry. Atlantic Lotteries are responsible for New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island. OLG is for the province of Ontario only. WCLC is responsible for Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
BCLC would be for the province of British Colombia only. There is also LQ for the province of Quebec. The Lotto Max and 6/49 draws are done by random ball drop at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming headquarters in Toronto and are overseen by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation. There are independent auditors present at each draw and the balls are weighed and tested regularly.

GOOD point Geno. What I am starting to realize after reading all these lotto websites - is that, "Lottomax is not made to give everyone a chance to win but to make more money from customers." They already knew that it would be impossible for everyone to win all 55 max millions.

As we have already explained, when our Super 7 game retired and we introduced Lotto Max, we discovered that only a very small percentage of our players were picking all three rows of numbers. For that reason, the decision was made that players would only be able to select the first row of numbers and the other two would be insta pick numbers. This decision remains the same even though there will be changes to the Lotto Max game in May.

Out here in west(BC actually)- I Agee with posters.
Have been buying group Lotto Max 3 years now and most wins every 6 months purchase has been $/18 people.(in 6 month buy-in). That’s $11 each after each paying $52 each 6 months. Point is usual winners Ont or Que.(96% if the time). How can a random number generate only the numbers sold in those provinces, so often. Has to be fixed- unless everyone quick picks and computer unable to discern where. Here in BC we have 4 number Extra attached- where I live, buy more than one ticket and the Extra numbers 95% are containing the same bloody numbers.

I agree all provinces should pick 3 lines on lotto max.If i wheeled my numbers it would be a significant saving. E.g. 25 lines cost $45 instead of $ I&#;ve had over 50 free plays for one drawing and they were all losers! The western is hardly won. Roughly 4 times from Sept, to April I used to win $10 and $50 weekly on the old Western but just before and after the game was computerized my winnings stopped. Now, I get free plays from my own numbers and they&#;re % losers with the odd $10 or another free play.
